I'm the maintainer of some Vcash-related pkgbuild's, and I thought I'd post on the forums for people that don't visit Slack. Here's all of my currently uploaded AUR pkgbuild's.
If you are using an Arch-based Linux distro, you can install both the Vcash daemon and the Vcash-electron GUI via the AUR. This makes installation of the daemon and GUI a single command away, instead of having to follow instructions on building it yourself, and allows for it to be updated like any other package.
If you don't know how to install them, you use an AUR helper to run commands similar to pacman, but for the AUR. Here's a list of them, my personal favorite being pamac. It provides an easy-to-use GUI that helps manage/search/install both official and AUR packages.
For a quick, step-by-step installation of any AUR file (without using a helper), follow these instructions:
Get the snapshot of the most current PKGBUILD:
- Extract the snapshot either with your GUI, or via the terminal by running
tar -xzf path/to/snapshot/
- Open your terminal inside of the extracted snapshot, or run
makepkg -si PKGBUILD and it should install whichever AUR file you chose.
That's all there is to it
